Gasket Guy is a specialty service franchise that supplies and installs commercial refrigeration door gaskets and related hardware for restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, and other businesses with walk-in coolers and freezers.

The company was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It has grown into the largest installer of commercial refrigeration gaskets in the United States and Canada.

The franchise began expanding through a distributorship model around 2020.

Gasket Guy differentiates itself through specialization and speed. Instead of operating as a general refrigeration repair business, the company focuses solely on gaskets and related hardware.

Training

Gasket Guy® provides a multi-phase training structure designed to prepare franchise owners and their teams for successful operations. Below are the main training programs and support offered by the Franchisor:

  1. Initial Franchise Management Training Program
This mandatory program is provided to the franchise owner and one additional person at no extra cost, covering topics such as sales, installation, marketing, human resources, and systems training. It is divided into two phases: Phase One includes classroom and on-the-job training in Atlanta, Georgia; Phase Two follows 3–4 weeks later and focuses on advanced skills like installer location and cold calling, conducted at the franchisee's location.
  2. Opening Assistance
Beginning about five days before opening and continuing up to seven business days after, Gasket Guy® sends a representative to assist with setup and implementation of standard procedures. This service is free unless additional time or personnel are requested, in which case the franchisee bears the cost.
  3. Additional Training
Franchisees may request or be required to attend extra training sessions, refresher courses, or seminars at the Franchisor’s discretion. These are charged at a daily per diem rate of $300 to $600, and all associated travel, lodging, and meal expenses are the responsibility of the franchisee.

Territory Protection

Gasket Guy® grants franchisees a defined “Protected Territory” under the franchise agreement, within which the Franchisor agrees not to establish or license another Office using the Gasket Guy® system, provided the franchisee remains in full compliance with the agreement.

This territory is specifically outlined in Attachment A of the franchise documents. The intent is to give franchisees confidence that no other identical Gasket Guy® operations will be permitted in their assigned area.

However, this protection is not absolute. The Franchisor retains the right to sell pre-packaged products or services under the Gasket Guy® marks through other channels such as internet, catalog, or direct mail within or outside the territory.
