Fruitfull provides structured and multi-phase training programs to support its franchisees in successfully launching and operating their businesses. The training is divided into distinct phases, targeting both Classic and Premier franchise models, with different time commitments and depth of assistance:
Initial Training Program: Classic franchisees undergo a one-week program, while Premier franchisees receive two weeks of training. This includes on-the-job assistance from a marketing consultant to help identify and secure placements for the first 8 (Classic) or 20 (Premier) freezer locations. The cost for this training is $10,000 for Classic and $15,000 for Premier franchises.
Jumpstart Program: Both Classic and Premier franchisees are scheduled to participate in a two-day Jumpstart program 6 to 9 months after completing the initial training. Attendance is mandatory for Premier franchisees each year and optional (but encouraged) for Classic franchisees. Additional Jumpstart sessions can be purchased, and non-participation may be treated as a breach of the franchise agreement.
On-the-Job Training: The training includes 16–20 hours of practical, location-specific support in the franchisee's market area (MSA). Topics include retail selling, account analysis, product training, point-of-sale materials, and securing both freezer and conventional accounts.
Territory Protection
Fruitfull does not offer exclusive territory protection to its franchisees. Franchisees are granted rights to operate within a designated Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), but this area is not exclusive.
Franchisees may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, or other distribution channels under the franchisor’s control. While franchisees are restricted to selling Fruitfull products within their assigned MSA, they may also sell in adjoining MSAs under certain conditions.
These include limits such as shipping only to a single cold storage facility and restrictions if the maximum number of franchises in the area has already been reached. Additionally, the franchisor retains the right to relocate a franchise within the assigned MSA, further emphasizing the lack of territorial exclusivity.
