DDSmatch is a dental transitions and brokerage franchise that helps dentists buy, sell, merge, or partner their practices. The company was founded around 2009 by Thad Miller, who sought to streamline the complex process of dental practice transitions through a combination of advanced technology and personalized consulting support.
Legally organized as DDSmatch Franchise, LLC, the franchisor is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, with its main office located at 9333 N. Meridian Street, Suite 250. Although DDSmatch began operations in 2009, it started franchising in 2015.
The franchise allows entrepreneurs to operate a full-service dental transition business, offering services such as practice sales, valuations, mergers, dental real estate, associate placements, and DSO (Dental Service Organization) sell-side representation.
DDSmatch stands out for its proprietary Trusted Transition Process™ and Clinical Opportunity Blueprint™ report, which help ensure smooth and data-driven transitions. The brand also partners with certified appraisal firms like Blue & Company for objective practice valuations.

DDSmatch provides a structured and multi-layered training program for its franchisees, as outlined in the franchise agreement. The training ensures that franchisees are fully prepared to operate their business according to DDSmatch standards. Below are the key training programs provided by the Franchisor:
Initial Training Program Franchisees must complete the initial training within 180 days of signing the agreement. This training includes both classroom and on-the-job components and must be successfully completed before the business begins operations. The program covers marketing materials, sales processes, website use, computer systems, client engagement, and advisor introductions. The training lasts approximately two days and can be held in Indianapolis, Indiana or remotely.
Ongoing and Refresher Training The Franchisor may require franchisees and their staff to attend additional or refresher courses periodically. This includes the potential requirement to attend annual or periodic conferences. While initial training for one principal is free, fees may apply for additional attendees or for refresher courses.
Support During Operations DDSmatch offers continuous support post-launch. This includes assistance in developing services, establishing administrative systems, and providing operational support. The Franchisor may offer further training in DDSmatch services upon request or if deemed necessary, subject to fees of up to $750 per day plus travel expenses.
Territory Protection
DDSmatch grants its franchisees a defined territory as part of the franchise agreement. Within this protected territory, DDSmatch agrees not to establish or license another business using its Marks and System, provided the franchisee remains in full compliance with the agreement.
This exclusivity aims to preserve the franchisee’s market potential and minimize internal competition among franchisees.
However, the protection is conditional and can be revoked if the franchisee fails to meet the standards outlined in the agreement. The territory is clearly delineated in the agreement, and maintaining good standing is essential for retaining this exclusive right.
