Zen Massage is a wellness franchise offering professional massage and skin-care services in a relaxed spa environment. The brand was founded in 2006 near uptown Charlotte, where it launched its first location before expanding into a franchise system.

Zen Massage is headquartered in Cornelius, North Carolina, at 19911 Zion Avenue, Suite D-1, and operates under the corporate name Zen Massage Franchising, Inc.

The franchise began offering franchise opportunities in 2006 , allowing owners to replicate its streamlined spa model in new markets. Zen Massage provides a full menu of services including Swedish massage, deep-tissue massage, sports massage, prenatal massage, reflexology, and facial and waxing treatments.

Its concept is built around “everyday low price” accessibility, making professional massage available without the pressure of contracts or long-term membership commitments.

What sets Zen Massage apart is its simple, value-driven business model. Unlike many spa chains that depend on memberships or complex fee structures, Zen Massage emphasizes no contracts, no membership fees, and transparent pricing.

Training

Zen Massage provides a comprehensive training program to prepare franchisees and their staff for successful center operations.

  1. Initial Training: A five-day mandatory program for up to four individuals, covering system operations, policies, and procedures. It takes place at the company’s designated training center in North Carolina or another location determined by the franchisor. The cost of instruction and materials is covered by the franchisor, but the franchisee must pay for travel, lodging, and meals.
  2. On-Site Training: Zen Massage offers three days of on-site training around the time of the center's opening. Additional on-site training is available upon request, subject to the franchisor’s availability and at the franchisee’s expense based on current per diem rates.
  3. Ongoing Support: Continued training and operational support are provided through consultations, updates to the system, and access to the Brand Standards Manual. The franchisor may also use Zoom sessions or training videos to support learning needs.

Territory Protection

Zen Massage provides franchisees with a Protected Territory that is clearly defined in the Franchise Agreement and typically encompasses a population of at least 75,000 to 100,000 people, marked by zip codes or similar boundaries.

During the term of the agreement, the franchisor will not authorize any other Zen Massage Center to open within this area, and the territory cannot be modified without mutual written consent. This offers franchisees a reliable level of territorial exclusivity for the duration of their agreement.

However, Zen Massage retains the right to market and sell products and services under the same or different trademarks within the Protected Territory through indirect channels such as catalogs, mail order, and digital platforms including television and the internet.
