SealMaster Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

SealMaster provides pavement and asphalt maintenance products and services, helping clients protect and preserve their asphalt investments.

Founded in 1969, SealMaster has established itself as a premier provider of pavement maintenance products and equipment. The company began franchising in 1993, offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to manufacture and distribute SealMaster’s proprietary pavement sealers along with a comprehensive line of related materials.

SealMaster is headquartered in Sandusky, Ohio, and has grown to become a widely recognized brand in the pavement maintenance industry. SealMaster franchises provide a wide array of products designed for the upkeep and repair of various pavement surfaces, such as driveways, parking lots, and roadways.

Their catalog includes pavement sealers, crack fillers, concrete repair materials, patching products, equipment, traffic paints, sport surfacing solutions, and specialized tools. This diverse product offering makes SealMaster a go-to source for pavement professionals and municipalities alike.

What differentiates SealMaster from its competitors is its vertically integrated franchise model and unwavering commitment to franchisee support. Franchise owners benefit from extensive training, ongoing marketing assistance, and technical support, all of which contribute to long-term success.

Training

SealMaster provides a structured training program to its franchisees as part of its franchise system:

  1. Initial Orientation and Training Program
SealMaster offers an initial orientation and training program at its headquarters or another designated location. This program, which lasts up to three weeks, is mandatory for the franchisee, the designated manager, and the outside sales person. It covers all major aspects of operating a SealMaster franchise. The franchisee is responsible for all related expenses, including travel, accommodation, and salaries.
  2. On-Site Opening Assistance
Franchisor sends a representative to the franchisee's premises for 2 to 5 days before opening to assist with setting up operations and training staff on necessary procedures and techniques.
  3. Additional Tailored Training
Upon request and depending on need, SealMaster may provide additional training tailored to specific issues identified by the franchisee. Although the training itself is not charged, the franchisee must cover all related expenses.
  4. Training for New or Additional Managers
If new managers are appointed after the initial training, SealMaster will provide training to them at the franchisee’s expense. These managers must also complete the training successfully at a designated location.

Territory Protection

SealMaster grants each franchisee a protected "Area of Primary Responsibility" (APR), defined by geographic boundaries. Within this area, the franchisor will not grant another SealMaster franchise of the same type.

However, SealMaster and its affiliates may still operate or authorize other types of businesses within the APR, including servicing national or regional accounts. These operations may use the SealMaster brand or other trademarks without compensating the franchisee.
