Perfect Skating is a specialized hockey player development franchise focused on elite skating and movement instruction. The company was founded in 2010 and developed the proprietary Perfect Skating System to improve skating efficiency, speed, agility, and balance.
The methodology was created by NHL skating and skills coach Shawn Allard and is designed specifically for hockey athletes. Perfect Skating delivers on-ice training programs, clinics, and performance sessions for youth, amateur, and elite players.
Perfect Skating is headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where it manages program development and franchise support. The brand built its reputation through data-driven instruction, movement analysis, and collaboration with sports science professionals.
Its programs emphasize small-group training and individualized feedback to help athletes translate skating improvements directly into game performance. Training is offered for players starting at a young age and extending through high-performance levels.
The company began franchising in 2022, allowing coaches and entrepreneurs to operate Perfect Skating locations in new markets.

Perfect Skating delivers a comprehensive and layered training program designed to prepare franchisees and their teams for high-level operational and instructional execution:
Initial Training Program: The franchisee, its Principal, and/or designated manager must attend and complete a mandatory seven-day Initial Training Program. This includes instruction in sales, marketing, operations, administration, finance, client service delivery, recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, insurance, software systems, and on-the-job training. Held in Ottawa, Ontario, the franchisee is responsible for all costs related to participation, excluding the labor costs of the Franchisor.

Ongoing and Additional Training: The Franchisor may require franchisees or their staff to attend up to seven days of refresher training or conventions annually, with sessions possibly being mandatory. These may include new services, techniques, or operational updates. Franchisees must cover associated costs, including a standard $500 daily fee or $1,000 per day if led by founder Shawn Allard.
Territory Protection
Perfect Skating grants franchisees a Protected Territory where they are licensed to operate using the brand's system and marks. Within this area, the franchisor agrees not to open another Perfect Skating franchise, provided the franchisee complies with all terms, satisfies performance criteria, and follows the operations manual.
If the franchisee fails to meet these conditions, the franchisor may reduce or eliminate the Protected Territory. Despite this protection, Perfect Skating retains significant rights within the territory. The franchisor may offer similar services under different branding or distribute goods under the Perfect Skating marks through non-franchise channels.
Additionally, other Perfect Skating units may serve customers from within your territory, and you are permitted to serve customers from outside your territory without exclusive rights.
