Owl Be There Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Owl Be There offers senior living placement services, helping families find the best care options for their loved ones with personalized guidance and support.

Founded in 2013 by David and Laura Greenwood, Owl Be There is dedicated to improving the lives of seniors by empowering them to make wise, informed choices about their living and care options. Headquartered in Springfield, Virginia, the company began franchising in 2020, offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to join their mission-driven network.

Owl Be There specializes in providing personalized guidance to seniors and their families, helping them navigate the complex landscape of senior housing and care options.

Their services include assistance with finding assisted living, Alzheimer's and memory care, home care services, temporary respite stays, independent senior living, and continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). Notably, their services are always free to seniors and their families, as they are compensated by their network of senior living and care providers.

What sets Owl Be There apart is their "White Glove" approach, offering exceptional, end-to-end guidance tailored to each individual's unique needs. Their local specialists are deeply familiar with the communities they serve, ensuring that recommendations are well-informed and personalized.

Training

Owl Be There provides a structured training program for franchisees to ensure successful operation of their business. The training offered by the Franchisor includes the following key programs:

  1. Initial Training Program: The Operating Principal must complete this comprehensive program within 90 days of the agreement's effective date. This training covers the OBT system's standards, methods, procedures, and techniques. It includes on-the-job and in-person elements and may also be delivered via Zoom or teleconference. Additional attendees may be allowed at OBT’s discretion, and all participants may need to pass tests and receive certification before offering services.
  2. Ongoing Training and Refresher Courses: Franchisees must attend up to five days of annual ongoing or refresher training as specified by OBT. These sessions help maintain brand standards and adapt to any procedural updates.
  3. Annual Convention: Franchisees are required to attend an annual convention organized by OBT, which may last up to three days. The convention serves as a platform for further education, networking, and updates.

However, the franchise does not offer exclusive territory protection. Owl Be There may operate or authorize other outlets, serve National Accounts, or introduce similar services within any territory, even if it impacts existing franchisees.
