Assisted Living Locators offers a comprehensive training program to prepare franchisees for successful operations. Here are the programs they provide:
Initial Training Program Assisted Living Locators requires the Managing Owner and initial high-level managers to complete an approximately 5-day initial training at their corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, or another designated location. This training must be completed within 60 days of signing the Franchise Agreement, and satisfactory completion is mandatory for the business to open.
Onsite Opening Training Within the first 12 months of operation, Assisted Living Locators sends a representative to the franchisee’s territory to provide two days of onsite training and assistance. During this visit, the representative evaluates operations, offers improvement suggestions, and answers any operational questions.
Ongoing and Refresher Training Franchisees are required to attend periodic system-wide refresher or additional training courses, although no more than one is mandated within any 12-month period. Attendance at these events ensures that franchisees stay updated with operational improvements and industry changes.
Territory Protection
Assisted Living Locators does not provide its franchisees with an exclusive territory but does offer limited territorial protections. Each franchisee is granted a defined Territory described in the Franchise Agreement, within which the franchisor agrees not to establish another Assisted Living Locators franchise or authorize another franchisee to conduct business.
However, franchisees may still face competition from the franchisor itself, from other franchisees, and from alternative channels of distribution like online services. While Assisted Living Locators prohibits others from entering into marketing agreements or placing clients within a franchisee’s designated Territory, there are exceptions.
The franchisor retains the right to engage with Regional Accounts and operate competitive businesses under different trademarks, even within a franchisee’s Territory. Furthermore, franchisees are not entitled to compensation for any sales that the franchisor or its affiliates may make through these alternative channels.
