N-Hance Wood Refinishing provides a robust and multi-tiered training system designed to ensure franchisees and their employees are fully prepared to operate the business effectively. The training covers essential operational, technical, and business development aspects. Here are the numbered training programs:

1. Initial and New Buyer Training
   Franchisees must complete approximately 10 hours of online “New Franchisee” training, followed by nine days of in-person hands-on training at a designated location such as Ann Arbor, MI. This program includes instruction on product application, operating equipment, computing estimates, and customer management. A further 20 hours of review and coursework follow the hands-on sessions.
2. Ongoing Training Requirements
   Franchisees are obligated to attend at least two annual conventions during the agreement term and complete one in-person training and any required online courses each year. NHI may assess fines or even terminate the agreement for non-compliance. Training may include updates, certification renewals, or other skill-based courses.

Territory Protection

N-Hance Wood Refinishing grants franchisees a Protected Franchised Area, within which they are required to operate exclusively. This area is not considered an exclusive territory, meaning that franchisees might still face competition from other franchisees or company-owned outlets, as well as from other distribution channels controlled by the franchisor.

The size of the territory depends on local population density and geographic features, typically encompassing between 250,000 and 350,000 people.

N-Hance reserves broad rights to conduct business both within and outside of the franchisee’s territory. This includes selling products through channels like e-commerce, mail order, or retail establishments under the same or different trademarks.
