Laundrolab Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

Laundrolab is a laundry franchise offering modern and efficient laundry services, including self-service laundromats and wash-and-fold services, focusing on customer convenience and satisfaction.

LaundroLab is a modern, tech-forward laundromat franchise designed for today’s consumer. It was founded in 2020 by Alex Smereczniak and Dan D’Aquisto. The company began as 2ULaundry, a pick-up and delivery laundry service that opened its first laundromat prototype in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2018.

LaundroLab is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The original 2ULaundry model began in 2016. LaundroLab, its brick-and-mortar counterpart, was officially established in 2020 to bring a premium laundromat experience to communities. The brand began franchising in 2021, and its first three franchise locations launched in 2022 in Tampa, Charleston, and Charlotte.

LaundroLab provides customers with self-service laundry, wash-and-fold services, and a suite of modern amenities. Locations are staffed and feature Electrolux professional equipment, mobile app payment options, loyalty programs, vending machines, and family-friendly spaces with arcades and free Wi-Fi.

What sets LaundroLab apart is its tech-enabled, customer-centric experience. Unlike traditional laundromats, LaundroLab combines automation, premium branding, and clean, welcoming environments.

  1. Initial Training Program: This mandatory course lasts up to two days and includes both classroom and practical instruction. Topics covered range from customer service and financial management to equipment maintenance and use of proprietary software. The training is conducted in Charlotte, NC, or another designated site, and may include an online self-paced component.
  2. Additional On-Site Training: As part of the initial program, LaundroLab provides two days of on-site assistance around the business’s opening. This includes final reviews, staff training, inventory management, and operational assessments. There is no extra charge for this segment.
  3. Training of Additional Personnel: Franchisees may request LaundroLab to train new or replacement employees, subject to a fee and availability. The franchisor also provides standardized training materials which must be used for internal training.
  4. Refresher and Additional Training: LaundroLab may offer or require franchisees and their employees to attend ongoing or refresher training sessions, especially after system updates. Attendance may be up to five days per year and franchisees are responsible for all associated costs.

Territory Protection

LaundroLab provides limited territorial protection to its franchisees by granting them a “Protected Territory” as specified in their Franchise Agreement. While the franchisor commits not to establish or license another LaundroLab business physically located within this territory during the term of the agreement, this assurance is conditional upon the franchisee remaining in compliance with all agreement terms.

The territory is typically based on geographic factors and is outlined in a data sheet attached to the franchise contract. However, this protection is not absolute. LaundroLab and its affiliates reserve rights to operate or license businesses in “Non-Traditional Venues” within the Protected Territory, such as hospitals, military bases, or college campuses.
