Training

Junk King provides comprehensive training to franchisees, which includes an initial training program comprising both classroom and field training. The initial training generally spans four days of classroom sessions at their offices in Irving, Texas, along with one day of on-location training.

Portions of the training can be conducted virtually, but an in-person session is mandatory. The curriculum covers various operational aspects such as truck operations, customer care, marketing systems, financial planning, and safety.

Additionally, the franchisor offers ongoing training and may require refresher courses or advanced training to ensure adherence to their system standards.

Annual attendance at training events or conferences like the "Reunion" is mandatory for franchisees, and any extra training is subject to fees. Franchisees are responsible for their own travel and living expenses during these training programs.

Territory Protection

Junk King grants limited territory protection to its franchisees, assigning a designated area typically with a population of 450,000 to 650,000 people. Within this territory, no other Junk King franchise can operate, provided the franchisee complies with the agreement terms.

However, the franchisor may manage Key Accounts or operate similar businesses outside this territory under different trademarks.

While the assigned territory ensures operational exclusivity, Junk King and its affiliates reserve the right to offer competitive services elsewhere or through alternate channels. This structure maintains a balance between exclusivity for franchisees and business flexibility for the franchisor.
