Stone Environmental Services is a specialized environmental services franchise focused on chemical distribution and commercial waste management. The company was founded in 2001 by industry veteran Anna Milantoni and was originally established in Florida.

Today, Stone Environmental Services is headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, and serves regulated industries across the United States. The brand has built a strong reputation for reliability, compliance, and technical expertise.

Stone Environmental Services began franchising after refining its operating model in highly regulated markets. The franchise offers services that include specialty chemical distribution, solvent blends, refrigerants, and hazardous and non-hazardous waste solutions.

Franchisees work with clients in manufacturing, aerospace, printing, healthcare, and government sectors. The business model is designed for B2B customers with recurring service needs.

The franchise differentiates itself through a compliance-driven approach aligned with EPA, DOT, and OSHA standards. Stone Environmental Services provides in-depth training, operational systems, and access to an established vendor network.

Training

The franchise Stone Environmental Services™ offers a comprehensive training program to ensure its franchisees are well-equipped to run their operations. Here’s a breakdown of the training provided by the franchisor:

  1. Pre-Opening Training
Stone Environmental Services™ provides standard pre-opening training for the designated Principal Executive and up to two additional team members. This training is conducted either at their headquarters or at a designated franchise location. It covers operating procedures, systems, and tools necessary for launch and is part of the initial franchise fee.
  2. Instructional Materials & Self-Directed Training
Franchisees are given access to structured training materials, including video lessons, written procedures, checklists, and shadowing/coaching tools. Some aspects of the training are self-directed, with the franchisee expected to follow a set structure, although the content is created and provided by the franchisor.
  3. Training by Delegates
Training sessions may also be led by experienced individuals delegated by the franchisor, such as managers or senior employees from franchisor-owned locations. These instructors usually have a minimum of one year of experience and have completed their own training.
  4. Training Completion Requirements
Franchisees must complete the initial training and pass a test at least four weeks before opening. Failure to do so may result in termination of the franchise agreement without a refund.

Territory Protection

Stone Environmental Services™ provides franchisees with protected territories as part of their franchise agreement. Within this defined area, the franchisor agrees not to establish or license another outlet—either company-owned or franchised—that sells the same or similar services under the Stone Environmental Services™ brand.

This protection is granted without conditions related to sales performance or other metrics, offering franchisees peace of mind regarding market exclusivity.

Additionally, the franchisor restricts itself from soliciting or accepting customer orders within the franchisee's territory through direct channels such as internet, telemarketing, or catalog sales. Franchisees are similarly restricted from marketing or selling outside their assigned territory.
