Training

1-800-JUNKPRO provides several types of training programs for its franchisees to ensure proper operation within their system:

  1. Initial Training Program: This is a mandatory program for new franchisees (not for renewals) that lasts approximately two weeks. It includes 4–5 days of in-person training at the company’s headquarters in Valley Center, Kansas (or another designated location), and 2–3 days of remote training. The training covers operations, management, and marketing. It is offered at no additional cost for the franchisee and one employee, though expenses such as travel, lodging, and meals must be paid by the attendee. Additional trainees require payment of a daily fee per person.
  2. Additional and Refresher Training: The franchisor may offer or require optional or mandatory refresher training programs lasting up to five days. These can be held virtually, at the franchisee’s location, or other designated venues. Franchisees must cover all related expenses, and attendance is mandatory unless excused.
  3. Manager and Employee Training: If a new manager or a replacement is hired during the franchise term, the franchisor may require them to complete the same Training Program. The franchisee bears all costs. The franchisor reserves the right to review or mandate training for other staff and may waive training requirements for personnel with prior experience.

Territory Protection

1-800-JUNKPRO offers its franchisees a defined Designated Territory, which provides a form of territorial protection. Within this Designated Territory, the franchisor agrees not to allow another 1-800-JUNKPRO franchise or competing business using the brand to be established. Each territory is typically composed of Zones based on population size, with a Standard Market territory consisting of at least 500,000 people, and smaller communities qualifying as Small Market franchises.

However, this territorial exclusivity is conditional. Franchisees must achieve a minimum level of Gross Revenues annually to maintain their rights to the territory. Failure to meet these performance benchmarks could lead to a reduction in territory size, the loss of a Zone, or even termination of the Franchise Agreement.
