Founded in 2008 by Michelle Cote in St. Augustine, Florida, Bricks 4 Kidz offers engaging, project-based programs designed to teach principles of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to children aged 3 to 13 using LEGO® bricks.

The company began franchising in 2009 and has since expanded to over 300 locations worldwide, making it one of the fastest-growing franchises in the children's education sector.

Headquartered in Arlington, Texas, Bricks 4 Kidz provides a variety of programs, including after-school classes, workshops, camps, and birthday parties, all centered around LEGO® brick-building activities. These programs are designed to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and a love for learning in a fun and interactive environment.

What sets Bricks 4 Kidz apart from competitors is its proprietary curriculum developed by engineers and architects, ensuring that each lesson is both educational and entertaining.

Training

Bricks 4 Kidz provides a structured training regimen for its franchisees to ensure proper operation of the business. The franchisor delivers training through the following programs:

  1. Initial Training Program: This is a comprehensive program provided to the franchisee (or their managing owner) and Designated Manager before the business opens. It typically spans approximately three days, either onsite or online, depending on the franchisee's experience and needs. The training includes the use of the Operations Manual and other instructional materials. Completion of this training to the franchisor’s satisfaction is mandatory for the business to commence operations.
  2. Quarterly Training Sessions: Initial training sessions are conducted quarterly or more frequently if necessary. These are held at the franchisor’s training facility in Milpitas, CA, or another designated location. Attendance is compulsory for the franchisee or managing owner and Designated Manager.
  3. Ongoing Training Programs: Bricks 4 Kidz may require franchisees to attend ongoing or additional training throughout the franchise term. These can be conducted online or in person and may incur reasonable fees. The franchisor also offers periodic training sessions in marketing, sales, technology, curriculum, and operations, conducted by its experienced management team.

Territory Protection

Bricks 4 Kidz provides franchisees with a designated territory, typically based on contiguous zip codes and a defined number of schools. While the franchisor agrees not to open another Bricks 4 Kidz franchise within that territory during the agreement term, this protection applies only if the franchisee remains in full compliance.

However, the territory is not exclusive. Bricks 4 Kidz and its affiliates retain the right to operate through other channels, such as online sales or company-owned outlets, even within the franchisee’s assigned area. Franchisees have no automatic rights to expand into neighboring territories.
