Heights Wellness Retreat franchise is a modern health and wellness concept offering massage therapy, skincare, and advanced touchless wellness services under one roof. The brand was originally founded in 2004 in San Antonio, Texas, under the name Massage Heights.

It was created to provide accessible, professional therapeutic services in a welcoming spa environment. In 2024, the company rebranded as Heights Wellness Retreat to reflect its expanded focus on whole-body wellness. Heights Wellness Retreat is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where the first location was established.

The company began franchising in 2005, shortly after opening its initial retreat. Since launching its franchise program, the brand has expanded across the United States and into Canada, supported by a membership-based business model that encourages recurring revenue and long-term client relationships.

The franchise offers a broad range of wellness services, including licensed massage therapy, facial treatments, and touchless modalities such as cryotherapy, red light therapy, infrared sauna, and halotherapy.

Training

Heights Wellness Retreat offers a structured training program to support franchisees in successfully launching and operating their wellness business.

  1. Initial Training
Franchisees must attend an initial training program provided by Heights Wellness Retreat. This training includes essential knowledge for operating the retreat, and additional fees may apply if extra attendees are brought in or if training needs to be extended due to the franchisee’s failure to complete the program.
  2. Supplemental and Role-Specific Training
If a franchisee replaces key personnel such as the Designated Retreat Director or Lead Therapists, the franchisor may require supplemental training. These sessions come with additional fees per person, plus expenses for travel, lodging, and meals. Refresh training is also mandatory approximately every three years.
  3. Make-Up and Transfer Training
Franchisees who miss required conventions or meetings must attend make-up training sessions, incurring additional costs. If a franchise is transferred, the new owner may be required to undergo both standard and on-site training programs to ensure operational consistency. These programs ensure that both new and ongoing operators uphold brand standards effectively.

Territory Protection

Heights Wellness Retreat does not offer exclusive territory protection to its franchisees. The franchisor may operate or license others to operate similar businesses under different names or systems, even near an existing franchisee. Franchisees may not be granted any rights to a protected area beyond what is defined in their specific agreement.

This means another franchise location or corporate-owned retreat could potentially be opened nearby, depending on the franchisor’s discretion. Additionally, the franchisor retains full rights to market, distribute, and sell services or products in any geographic area, including within a franchisee’s market. This structure allows for broad franchisor flexibility but limits territorial exclusivity for the franchisee.
