Training

Furniture Medic delivers a comprehensive, multi-phase training program to prepare franchisees and their staff to operate the business successfully.

1. Pre-Initial Training: Franchisees must complete a Pre-Initial Training course before attending the two-week Initial Training. This covers business, office, and shop setup and is conducted remotely.
2. Initial Training: Held in Memphis, Tennessee, the Initial Training spans two weeks, followed by a third week within six months. One individual is covered by the franchise fee, while others can attend on a space-available basis for an additional fee. If a participant fails the final test, they must repeat the training.
3. Post-Training: Within six months of completing Initial Training, the franchisee and a selected manager must return for a one-week Post-Training program. This is essential for new franchisees and costs extra for each additional trainee.
4. Annual Training: Each person rendering Franchised Services must attend a training course annually for each service they provide. This may be fulfilled through in-person sessions or attending the National Convention.

Territory Protection

Furniture Medic does not offer exclusive territory rights to its franchisees. The franchisor designates a territory at its sole discretion based on various factors such as population and market potential, but it retains the right to operate or authorize similar businesses within or outside that area.

Franchisees may face competition from other Furniture Medic franchises, corporate outlets, or other affiliated brands operating in or near their assigned territory. Although a specific territory is assigned and documented in the franchise agreement, the protection it provides is limited.

Furniture Medic reserves rights to market and sell services through other channels, including the internet, and may grant rights to other franchisees within the same area. Franchisees are prohibited from soliciting or advertising outside their territory without written consent, but may fulfill service requests outside their territory if initiated by the customer or referred by the franchisor.
