Estrella Insurance provides a comprehensive training program to ensure that franchisees are well-prepared to operate their businesses effectively. The training consists of several distinct components:
Initial Training Program This is an eight-week program that combines classroom instruction and on-the-job training conducted at Estrella’s designated training facility. Two management-level individuals must attend, one of whom should be the franchisee or an approved manager. The training must be completed at least one week before the franchise opens. All costs for travel, lodging, meals, and other associated expenses are borne by the franchisee.
Structured Curriculum The training includes topics such as introduction to insurance, agency operations, customer service, human resources, sales techniques, and operational procedures. A key instructional resource is the Estrella Operations Manual. The classroom portion is held primarily in Miami, Florida, while the hands-on training continues at other designated facilities.
Licensing Requirements Franchisees are required to complete all necessary state licensing courses and exams as part of the training process. This may include separate educational courses not provided by Estrella. Failure to complete training or obtain licensing can lead to termination of the agreement.
Territory Protection
Estrella Insurance offers limited territory protection depending on the type of franchise model. Franchisees operating a Commercial Office Franchised Business are granted a protected territory, typically defined as an area within a one-mile driving radius from the approved location.
Within this zone, Estrella agrees not to establish or allow others to establish a competitive business under the same name, provided the franchisee remains compliant with their agreement.
However, this protection has several exceptions. Estrella retains the right to operate or grant franchises for businesses under different trademarks or systems within or outside the territory. Franchisees of Home-Based Franchised Businesses, on the other hand, do not receive any form of territorial protection and may face competition even within their operational area.
