Training

AmeriSpec provides a structured and comprehensive training program to ensure franchisees are well-prepared to operate their businesses. The training offered by the franchisor includes the following key components:

  1. Initial Training (Academy Training): New franchisees, or their approved managers, must attend a two-week Academy training. This program includes management training in marketing, administration, and operations, as well as technical training in home inspection services. Successful completion is required before opening the business.
  2. Technical Certification: All individuals performing home inspections must complete the technical portion of the initial training and pass a final certification exam. This ensures that all inspectors meet the standards set by AmeriSpec and are competent to perform inspections under the brand.
  3. Additional Trainee Policy: Each new franchise is allowed up to three trainees to attend the initial training within the first year. Additional attendees may be permitted based on business volume, but will incur an additional fee.
  4. Training for Commercial Inspections: While the main training covers residential inspections, AmeriSpec may provide or approve additional training for commercial building inspections. Franchisees must meet company standards and obtain certification from an approved third-party program to offer these services.

Territory Protection

AmeriSpec offers its franchisees a "Designated Territory" that comes with certain protections, though it is not classified as an exclusive territory. The franchisor agrees not to enter into another franchise agreement with a competing AmeriSpec franchisee within this protected area, provided the current franchisee meets specified performance criteria.

These include maintaining certain revenue growth metrics, market share benchmarks, and compliance with franchise obligations. However, the protection is conditional and can be lost if performance standards are not upheld. AmeriSpec retains the right to modify the boundaries or revoke protection if a franchisee fails to meet these standards over time.
