Urban Air: Redefining Indoor Adventure Entertainment

Urban Air Adventure Park has grown into a leading name in the world of family fun since its inception in 2011. With its headquarters located in Grapevine, Texas, the brand took its first steps into franchising in 2015 and has since developed a widespread presence across the U.S., drawing in families with its one-of-a-kind indoor entertainment offerings.

Each location delivers a thrilling mix of attractions, from ninja warrior courses and climbing walls to high-flying zip line coasters, expansive trampoline zones, immersive virtual reality games, and more. Some locations even feature go-kart tracks and indoor skydiving, making Urban Air a hub for adrenaline and adventure under one roof.

Unlike traditional trampoline parks, Urban Air positions itself as a full-scale indoor adventure experience. Its broad appeal spans all age groups, making it a go-to venue for birthday parties, group events, or just active family fun.

What sets Urban Air apart is its forward-thinking approach to entertainment. The brand has made waves in the industry by debuting the first wind tunnel for indoor skydiving inside a theme park and enhancing its venues with attractions like high-speed go-karts and interactive bumper cars, reinforcing its reputation as a pioneer in active indoor amusement.

Training

Urban Air Adventure Park provides an extensive and multi-level training program for franchisees and their team members. The training is designed to ensure operational excellence and adherence to brand standards across all locations.

  1. Initial Training Program
This includes both classroom and on-the-job components, covering topics such as brand vision, marketing, HR processes, and safety. It is offered free of charge for two individuals (typically the Designated Manager and one more), with additional attendees incurring a fee. Training is conducted at the headquarters or a designated site.
  2. Safety and Certification Training
Franchisees must ensure that their Designated Manager, general manager, and personnel complete all safety training as required by Urban Air and local laws. Certifications must be maintained throughout the franchise term, and Urban Air may charge fees for this training, including costs for travel and accommodations of trainers.
  3. Remedial and Additional Training
If operations do not meet standards or if new managers are hired, Urban Air may require additional or remedial training. This includes refresher courses or replacement manager training, either conducted by the franchisor or trained personnel, subject to approval.
  4. Franchise Business Operations Training
Urban Air delivers hands-on and business operations training before the grand opening. This typically includes online modules, in-park revenue handling, and operations over a three- to four-day period at North Texas locations or at the franchisee’s park.

Territory Protection

Urban Air Adventure Park grants franchisees a “Protected Area” where no other Urban Air Adventure Park will be opened during the agreement term, as long as the franchisee complies with the contract. The boundaries are defined once a site is approved and are based on geographic markers or demographics.

However, this protection does not cover online or direct sales, which the franchisor may conduct within the territory. The franchisor may also operate or license other businesses under different names, and overlapping protected areas with other franchisees are allowed.
