The TP TEA franchise, also known as TPTEA Tea Shop, is a premium Taiwanese bubble tea brand rooted in traditional tea craftsmanship. The brand was founded in 2005 in Taichung, Taiwan, where it began blending authentic tea culture with modern beverage trends.

TP TEA focuses on delivering high-quality tea drinks inspired by historical brewing methods and contemporary tastes.

TP TEA is headquartered in Taichung City, Taiwan, and has expanded across Asia and North America. The brand operates in multiple international markets, reflecting strong global demand for authentic Taiwanese tea concepts. Its steady growth has positioned TP TEA as a recognizable name in the specialty tea and bubble tea segment.

The company began franchising after establishing a strong domestic presence and later expanded its franchise model internationally. The TP TEA Tea Shop franchise entered the U.S. market around 2020, allowing entrepreneurs to bring the brand’s premium tea offerings to new regions.

Training

TPTEA provides a comprehensive and structured training program for its franchisees and their staff:

  1. Initial Training Program: This includes two phases conducted at a designated training facility and a training store in Taiwan. Subjects covered include a 10-hour corporate overview, 8 hours of store operations management, 72 hours of front-of-house training, 40 hours of tea management, 32 hours of counter operation, and 64 hours of on-site operational training.
  2. Mandatory Pre-Opening Training: The initial training is required before opening the first TPTEA shop. It is held only once and must be completed to the franchisor’s satisfaction, with no specific deadline tied to signing the Franchise Agreement.
  3. Staff Certification and Evaluation: Designated employees must pass evaluations across thirteen positions. Training and evaluations take place in Taiwan, and franchisees must cover all associated costs, including wages, travel, and accommodations.
  4. Ongoing and Development Training: TPTEA may provide ongoing or development franchisee training either in person or via online platforms. Participation may be mandatory, and training may be held at the franchisor’s office or another designated location.

Territory Protection

TPTEA grants a territory within a 4-mile radius where it won’t open another Tea Shop if the franchisee opens within 12 months and maintains high standards. This protection is conditional and can be revoked if performance criteria aren't met.

However, the territory is not exclusive. TPTEA may still operate or allow others to operate in non-traditional sites like airports or campuses and use alternative distribution channels such as vending machines or online sales.
