Training

The Paterson franchise offers a structured and extensive training program for its franchisees.

  1. Initial Training: The franchisor provides approximately five to nine days of in-person initial training, followed by up to 180 days of virtual training. This includes a mandatory 60-day online training phase via the Pathwright Portal, during which franchisees, considered “Trainees,” must have previously been a LifePlan client and pass interviews assessing alignment with the franchise's core values and business readiness.
  2. Mandatory Refresher Training: The franchisor may require franchisees to attend additional in-person or virtual training sessions under certain conditions. These include non-compliance with franchise standards, breaches of agreement, or to maintain the franchise's integrity and the guide’s certification status.
  3. Optional Training and Support: Additional optional training opportunities such as workshops may be available, potentially at a cost. Franchisees may also receive support through consultations, ongoing advice from the franchisor’s team or designated franchisees, and updates about business operations, products, and services.

Territory Protection

The Paterson franchise does not offer territorial protection or exclusivity to its franchisees. Franchisees are allowed to market and offer their services anywhere in the world, but this does not come with a guaranteed exclusive or protected territory.

The agreement explicitly states that franchisees will not receive any designated geographic area or market, and they may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned operations, or alternative distribution channels such as the Internet or catalogs.

Additionally, the franchisor and its affiliates retain the right to operate competing businesses, license others to do so, and enter into marketing partnerships using the same or different trademarks. This means franchisees could potentially face overlap or competition within their operational area, even from other parts of the franchise network.
