Krak Boba offers a variety of bubble tea and boba drinks in creative flavors, along with snacks and desserts, providing a refreshing and enjoyable experience for bubble tea lovers.

Krak Boba is a fast-casual boba tea franchise that was founded in Riverside, California in 2021. The brand was established with a creative vision inspired by the legend of King Krakus and the Dragon, symbolizing inner strength and originality.

Krak Boba operates under Krak Boba Franchising LLC and is committed to offering flavorful, customizable drinks in a vibrant, youthful atmosphere.

Headquartered in Riverside, CA, Krak Boba began franchising in the early 2020s. It has rapidly expanded, with at least 25 locations across California, Texas, Indiana, and Colorado.

The menu includes a wide selection of milk teas, fruit teas, coffee, smoothies, and snackable food items. Each drink is presented as an “elixir,” highlighting the brand’s goal to energize and empower customers.

Krak Boba also engages customers with a loyalty-driven mobile app, known as the Krak Circle, and a strong visual brand that resonates with a younger, trend-aware audience.

Training

Krak Boba offers a structured and multi-faceted training program to ensure franchisees are fully prepared to operate their outlets effectively. These programs are designed to cover initial setup as well as ongoing operational support. Below are the numbered training programs:

  1. Initial Management Training Program: This is a mandatory course that must be completed at least two months before opening the franchised business. It includes classroom and practical instruction at the franchisor’s headquarters or designated location, and is provided free of charge for up to two trainees, although trainees must cover their travel and living expenses.
  2. Opening Assistance: A trained representative is assigned to provide on-site support during the opening of the business for up to five days. This assistance includes training, supervision, and operational guidance at no additional cost to the franchisee.
  3. Mandatory and Optional Additional Training: Franchisees are required to attend an annual business meeting or national convention, which can last up to five days each year. Failure to attend constitutes a default under the agreement.
  4. On-Site Remedial Training: Available upon request or at the franchisor’s discretion, this program provides additional in-person support for a fee, including travel and lodging costs for the trainers.

Territory Protection

Krak Boba offers franchisees a limited form of territorial protection. Each franchisee is granted a “Territory,” typically defined based on population density—either 80,000 people or a 3-mile radius, whichever is less.

The franchisor commits not to allow another Krak Boba outlet within this Territory, provided the franchisee remains in compliance with the agreement terms. However, Krak Boba retains broad rights within that same area.

The franchisor may still distribute its products through alternative channels such as grocery stores, co-branded outlets, and online platforms, even within a franchisee’s designated Territory. Franchisees do not receive compensation for sales made through these channels, which limits the exclusivity of their territorial rights.
