Training

KLA Schools provides a structured training regimen for franchisees that encompasses several distinct programs to ensure operational readiness and compliance with system standards:

  1. Owner Training: This initial training is mandatory for the Operating Principal and includes instruction and materials provided by the Franchisor. It must be completed at least 16 weeks before opening, and its length may vary based on the participant’s background and the school’s offerings. While instruction is covered, expenses such as travel and lodging are borne by the Franchisee.
  2. Director Training: Targeted at the Director and designated employees, this program is also conducted by the Franchisor. Successful completion is required before the school begins operations. The training duration is flexible, and all associated expenses are the responsibility of the Franchisee.
  3. Personnel Training: The Franchisee is responsible for training all staff as required by the Confidential Operations Manual and relevant business standards. This includes compliance with any local or state certification requirements.

Territory Protection

KLA Schools does offer limited territory protection to its franchisees through what it defines as a “Protected Territory.” This territory is established after a franchisee has either operated for 24 consecutive months or reached a 75% enrollment rate relative to capacity.

The Protected Territory is determined at the franchisor’s sole discretion and will include at least 85% of the residences of the enrolled students at the time of designation. While KLA Schools commits not to license or operate another school within this Protected Territory as long as the franchisee complies with the agreement, it explicitly does not grant an exclusive territory.
