KidsPark Franchise FDD, Costs & Fees (2025)

KidsPark is a family entertainment and early-education franchise offering indoor play, drop-in childcare, preschool programs, and birthday events, serving families of young children, and known for bright facilities, flexible scheduling, and community-centric model.

KidsPark is a childcare franchise that provides families with a wide range of convenient services, including drop-in care by the hour, preschool enrichment, after-school activities, and private party options. The concept was launched in 1988 in San Jose, California, as a response to parents looking for more adaptable childcare arrangements.

The brand is still based in San Jose and has built a strong reputation for blending education, creativity, and fun in a supervised setting designed to meet the needs of modern families. Its model focuses on creating an inviting space where children can learn and play while parents enjoy reliable, short-term support.

KidsPark moved into franchising in 2003 after its original location gained traction in the local community. Franchise owners run centers that typically serve children ages two through twelve, offering everything from hourly and backup care to preschool learning programs and themed birthday celebrations.

Training

KidsPark provides a structured training program to support franchisees in establishing and operating their childcare centers. The franchisor offers both pre-opening and ongoing assistance designed to equip franchisees with the knowledge and tools needed for success.

  1. Franchisee and Director Training: KidsPark trains up to two franchise owners and the center director in all aspects of operating a KidsPark® center. This typically includes a 5-day operations course held at the home office and KidsPark center in San Jose, California. Training covers operations, management, curriculum, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
  2. Design and Construction Guidance: The franchisor consults with franchisees virtually or by phone on the layout, design, and construction process of the center. Detailed floor plans and equipment specifications are provided, and designated suppliers must be used for key components.
  3. Opening Assistance: KidsPark sends a staff member to assist with setup and the opening of the center. This includes practical, hands-on support to ensure the center is operationally ready.
  4. Permit Support: Assistance is provided to help franchisees obtain the necessary childcare permits, a critical step for legal compliance before opening.
  5. Marketing Launch Consultation: KidsPark consults with franchisees on planning the Grand Opening and Open House events to attract families and promote the new center locally.

Territory Protection

KidsPark provides a limited form of territory protection to its franchisees. While the franchise agreement may grant an exclusive territory, this protection is conditional and may be reduced or revoked if certain performance benchmarks are not met.

Specifically, KidsPark reserves the right to modify or reduce the franchisee’s territory if the center fails to maintain enrollment of at least 1,000 families after 20 months of operation.

Moreover, KidsPark may allow other franchisees or the company itself to open centers within a designated area if the original franchisee does not secure an approved site within the initial 90 days of the agreement, or within a 90-day extension period.
