Territory Protection
Dumont Creamery and Café provides limited territory protection to franchisees. As long as the franchisee is not in default, Dumont will not establish or franchise another Café within the designated territory. However, this territory is non-exclusive, and Dumont may still operate or license similar businesses under different names within or outside the territory.
Franchisees cannot operate outside their approved location without written consent. Territorial protection under multi-unit agreements depends on meeting development obligations. If these are not met, the right to expand may be revoked, though existing Café rights generally remain intact.
